Edna Smith was 24 years old when she went missing near East Trout Lake, approximately 120 kilometers north of Prince Albert, Sask.
She was last seen on Oct. 15, 1983, just before heading out on a camping trip with her boyfriend and sister-in-law — a trip they had made regularly through the years.
A few short weeks later, the bodies of her boyfriend and sister-in-law were found. Smith remains missing today. The Saskatoon RCMP Historical Case Unit is handling her case.
According to the unit, Smith’s case remains active but it is believed that she had drowned.
