Our
Vision
In order to move forward towards true reconciliation, we, as settlers, strive to increase the understanding amongst each other of the true history of Canada, the inequalities that exist to this day and to listen, to learn, and to practice self-reflection.
Our
Mission
The Canadian Library creates Micro Galleries as powerful visual learning experiences that inspire reflection, raise awareness, and foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and lived experiences.
Through remembrance, education, and storytelling, we seek to help Canadians better understand our shared history, honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples and the children who never returned home from residential schools, and support truth, reconciliation, and meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities.
By acknowledging the past, recognizing the injustices that continue to affect Indigenous Peoples today, and amplifying Indigenous voices, we create spaces where stories are remembered, conversations are sparked, and learning leads to understanding, respect, and lasting change.
