Story of Lana Patricia Derrick

Derrick is remembered as a happy and hardworking college student from the Gitanyow First Nation in British Columbia.

“She just loved working outside, and logging and all that stuff that went with it. She was really good in her classes” – Sally Gibson (Aunt)On October 6, 1995, Lana Patricia Derrick went missing along a 724km corridor of Highway 16 known as the “Highway of Tears.”

80+ women and girls have gone missing from the areas around the Highway of Tears.
