Story of Sharon Abraham

Sharon Nora Jane Abraham, 39, from Sagkeeng First Nation, Man., was a mother of five who was known for her sense of humour, laughter and friendliness.

In January 2004, Abraham was reported missing from New Westminster, B.C., and in November 2004 RCMP said forensic evidence linked her to serial killer Robert Pickton’s farm. Her family said that evidence was her fingernail.

Although the RCMP believe Pickton was responsible for Abraham’s death, no charges were laid.

“Despite this, we still believe that Pickton was responsible for her death,” Cpl. Janelle Shoihet, a B.C. media relations officer said in an email.

“The B.C. Coroner has issued a death certificate using information gleaned from the investigation but in the absence of new or different information, no further action will be taken by the project team.”
