Story of Freda Goodrunning

Freda Goodrunning, 35, was a mom of six from Sunchild First Nation in Alberta. She had been living on the street for the last four years of her life.


Goodrunning was found dead in a storage shed on the afternoon of June 4, 2014 in the west end of Edmonton. She suffered blunt force trauma, according to the Edmonton Police Service.


In December 2016, Edmonton Police charged Jesse Martin, 33, with second-degree murder in connection with her death and possession of an offensive weapon. His next court date is June 3, 2019.
