Story of Delaine Copenance

Delaine Copenance is remembered as a loving sister and daughter from the Onigaming First Nation.

Her family recalls her as “the most Beautiful, Funniest, Silliest and absolutely without a doubt in our hearts the most interesting, unique, creative, clever, kindest and the most loving girl we’ve ever known.”

Delaine Copenance went missing on February 28, 2016 in Kenora, Ontario after going to the mall with friends. Kenora police were dismissive of the case at the time of the report, instead suggesting that Copenance may be intoxicated somewhere.

Her body was found on March 22, 2016 following a highly publicized search.
